Cookies & Preferences
How and why we use cookies, and how you can control them. We honor privacy preferences, including Global Privacy Control (GPC) where required.

1) What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device to make websites work or work better. Related technologies include local storage, session storage, and pixels. We use them to run our WordPress + PeepSo community, keep accounts secure, remember preferences, measure usage responsibly, and improve features.
2) Types we use
- Essential — strictly necessary for login, security, network management, and core features. Cannot be switched off.
- Functional — remembers choices (e.g., UI, language, filters) and enhances community UX.
- Analytics — privacy-respecting measurement (e.g., page views, device types). Where required, runs only with consent or with IP truncation/pseudonymization.
- Marketing — set by us or partners to deliver or measure promotions; only active with consent.
3) Consent & GPC
On your first visit we show a consent banner in supported regions. You can change your choices anytime below. We also honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals where applicable by limiting non-essential cookies unless you opt in.
4) Manage your preferences
bc:consent:update). Your selections control any gated scripts/embeds sitewide.5) Third-party cookies & embeds
When you interact with third-party embeds (e.g., video, maps, social), those providers may set cookies under their policies. Their tracking may depend on your consent here and their own settings. If you block marketing/analytics, certain embeds may be unavailable until you opt in.
6) Security, anti-spam & fraud
We use essential security cookies and may use anti-spam tools (e.g., reCAPTCHA or similar) to protect forms. These may set cookies for rate-limiting and abuse prevention.
7) Retention & expiry
Cookies may be session-based (expire when you close the browser) or persist from days to a year or more, depending on purpose. We aim to keep durations proportionate and rotate IDs regularly.
8) Other ways to control cookies
- Browser settings: block or delete cookies and site data.
- Do Not Track (DNT): not widely honored; we rely on consent + GPC where required.
- GPC: enable it in supported browsers/extensions to send a global opt-out signal.
9) Changes
We may update this page to reflect changes in law or our use of cookies. We’ll refresh the effective date and, where required, provide notice.
